We spent Thanksgiving with our California family this year. It was nothing short of a familyfestpallooza- the good kind of course. For the first time since Noah's existence we braved the open road and drove down. He actually did really well- how did people make any big drive with kids pre-portable DVD times? We are so spoiled in our modern times. That thing saves us every time! And how awesome is Redbox to pick up something fresh for another stretch of road?
To break up the trip we stayed in Vegas on our way down and back. Rob and I love, love, love Vegas and had fun showing Noah all the lights and grandeur Vegas has to offer, filtered of course. We had strip views from our hotel (which he loved) and walked up and down the strip to our favorite spots. On the way back we had dinner at Rainforest Cafe which was surprisingly good and of course a great experience. Since our trip he hasn't stopped talking about the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. He even gave these a shout out in one of his bedtime prayers, classic!
Cali was a blast it included:
- BBQ'ed turkey and dinner at Aunt Stef's
- Brunch at Andy and Nicole's cute house
- Amazing cooking a la Lynne, Rob's mom
- Running outside without needing hats/gloves
- Hiking/jogging to Rocky Peak
- Meeting my friend Melissa's baby Quinn
- Spending a day at Magic Mountain with Rob's sibs Chris and Tara and her hub and cute little man
- Checking out Doug's new ride
- Freezing in the wind while trying to take pics in the walnut grove
